This is a recommendation report I wrote for my technical writing class. After collaborating with a project manager at a company, I researched industry information and analyzed a problem, developed educated solutions, and prepared a recommendation report in a conventional format. Using my knowledge of Microsoft Word, I worked hard to design the report into a visually appealing document by using headings, lists, and screens.

I created this documentation while I worked at the Information Technology Help Desk at Texas Christian University. I practiced using SharePoint 2010 and then wrote simple step-by-step instructions on how to use various features. I was able to write instructions from a viewpoint of a beginning user and take screenshots of particularly confusing steps.

Written for a course titled “Interpersonal Communication,” the purpose of this paper was to research a communication theory, to apply the theory to a case study, and to ultimately critique the effectiveness of the theory. I am most proud of my ability to write in APA format, to find relevant research, and to complete a complex, multi-step project.

In this piece, I synthesize historical research and literature analyses for a course titled “19th Century American Novel.” I research the act of smuggling in historical documents, and I apply my findings to the novel The Hidden Hand. I worked hard to analyze information from multiple sources and to derive an understanding of 19th century culture. I am most proud of the way I apply my research and interpretations to the novel and derive new meaning from it.

I enjoyed the opportunity to exercise my creativity and apply skills I've learned in Adobe Photoshop. I am proud that I successfully employed the common design principles of contrast, repetition, alignment, an proximity.
